  • As a kind of heat resistant insulating paper, X-FIPER Meta Aramid Fiber is mainly composed of the polyisophthaloyl metaphenylene diamine fiber. The variety of laminates processed from the X-FIPER insulating paper shall have the extremely high electric, chemical and mechanical integrity. The proper use of such products will extend the service life of the electric equipment and reduce the premature failure and the frequency of the maintenance. There is a great number of different types of the X-FIPER products mainly including the insulating paper and laminated board, which have the appropriate balance of performance and generally serve the transformers, electric motors, generators and other electric equipments.

    X-FIPER Meta Aramid Paper have the following unique characteristics, making them the excellent electrical insulation materials: Dielectric Strength
    Calendered X-FIPER paper has good dielectric strength higher than 10KV/mm, and it can improve the dielectric strength of the product if immersed in the insulating varnish or resin.

    Thermal Stability
    The dielectric property and mechanical property of X-FIPER paper will keeps unchanged under the environment temperature lower than 200℃. Even at the temperature of 220℃, X-FIPER paper will also keep the properties unchanged for a long term.

    Non-toxicity And Flame Retardant (E320646)
    In 2008, X-FIPER paper passed American UL 94 (E320646) flame retardant certification. Established on the inner molecular structure, the paper is inherently non-toxic to human and animals and in full conformity with the environment protection requirements.

    Mechanical Strength
    A calendered X-FIPER paper is smooth with good wear resistance, high tensile strength and tear strength, and easy for processing or shaping.

    X-FIPER paper products remain stable in most of common solvents and the extreme resistance to the corrosion by acid, alkali and ketone. They are compatible with all types of insulating varnish, adhesive, transformer oil and other electrical equipment parts.

Nomex is a trademarked term for an inherently flame-resistant fabric with meta-aramid chemistry widely used for industrial applications and fire protection .

Nomex is produced by condensation reaction from the monomers m-phenylenediamine and isophthaloyl chloride.[1]

It is sold in both fiber and sheet forms and is used as a fabric where resistance from heat and flame is required. Nomex sheet is actually a calendered paper and made in a similar fashion. Nomex Type 410 paper was the first Nomex paper developed and one of the higher volume grades made, mostly for electrical insulation purposes.

Wilfred Sweeny (1926–2011), the DuPont scientist responsible for discoveries leading to Nomex, earned a DuPont Lavoisier Medal[4] in 2002 partly for this work.
